Principal of KY Psychology

Kyrollos Youssef

Kyrollos, better known as Ky, is the Principal of KY Psychology.

Ky (he/him) has been practising as a psychologist since 2009 working with adults, adolescents and children. Ky has a special interest in working with client’s with mood disorders including anxiety and depression, using evidence-based interventions.

With experience in both the private and community sector, Ky takes a client focused and inclusive approach. Ky is passionate about working collaboratively with his clients to achieve improved mental health.

In addition to his practice, Ky supports several secondary education schools in Melbourne’s Northern and Western suburbs. Ky works with different organisations to provide staff training, debriefs and consultancy services.

As a board approved supervisor, Ky also provides supervision for provisional psychologists completing their 5 + 1 internship programs. Ky also provides placement supervision for Masters students in Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) courses.

Ky also provides Critical Incident Debriefs and Stress Inventory Debriefs in different settings. In 2020, Ky was deployed to bush fire zones across rural Victoria to assist in supporting victims, volunteers and first responders.

PSYCHOLOGIST

Brett Bedson

Brett (he/him) is a health professional and a trained psychologist. Brett has been practising as a psychologist since 1999, bringing over 24 years experience to KY Psychology.

Brett takes a friendly and understanding approach. He works with his clients to fully understand their current challenges and background to find the best possible approaches to therapy.

In addition to his practice, Brett supports secondary schools in Melbourne’s Northern and Western suburbs.

As a board approved supervisor, Brett also provides secondary supervision for provisional psychologists completing their 5 + 1 internship programs.

Brett is also available to provide individual and group supervision to organisations and their teams.

PSYCHOLOGIST

Alyce Waite

Alyce is a trained psychologist, who provides a warm, empathic and collaborative approach to therapy.

She has experience in the community, justice and private sectors. She has delivered training’s to large groups and has provided various modes of therapy to clients.

Alyce enjoys building relationships with her clients and working with them towards identifying their issues and achieving their goals. She enjoys working with a range of different clients including children, adolescence and adults.

Alyce is committed to using evidence-based treatment. Her approach is underpinned by Schema therapy and Psycho-dynamic frameworks. She also delivers Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing interventions.

Provisional Psychologist

Angela Hernandez Saa

Angela (she/her) is a provisional psychologist currently completing her internship to gain general registration as a psychologist.

Angela is also a trained psychotherapist. Her approach is based on the understanding of the relationship between our past and the view of ourselves and view of others.

Angela has worked in public and private sectors offering support to individuals and families overseas and in Australia. Angela has experience working with different age groups, culturally diverse backgrounds and trauma informed practices. She has offered psychological first aid in response to humanitarian crises after natural disasters and forced displacements due to war.

Angela utilises a combined approach of evidence-based treatments and eclectic approaches. Approaches such as Internal Family Systems, Psychodynamic psychotherapy, Polyvagal Theory, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Buddhist Psychology, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance Commitment Therapy.

Provisional Psychologist

Gihani Jayasinghe

Gihani (she/her) is a provisionally registered psychologist currently completing her internship towards general registration.

She is passionate about providing clients with a supportive, open, and empathic environment to work collaboratively towards achieving tailored life goals.

Gihani is dedicated to cultural diversity and working with all age groups. Her goal is to provide a holistic approach to therapy drawing upon evidence based therapeutic support, Mindfulness- Based Interventions (MBI) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

Gihani also provides on-site support to schools in Melbourne’s North-West suburbs and has experience working with emotional regulation difficulties, anxiety, and depression presentations.

She has experience in an organisational psychology setting reviewing and performing data analysis for behavioural research and facilitating group workshops.

Administration Support

Julia Hooke

Julia (she/her) is a dedicated member of our admin team and is known for her welcoming and upbeat nature. Julia aims to creates a comfortable atmosphere for clients to express their needs and preferences when seeking a psychologist. Her primary focus is to ensure that clients are matched with the most suitable clinician to meet their requirements.

Julia possesses a strong interest in neuroscience and injury rehabilitation since completing her undergrad. She is currently completing her Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy. Moreover, Julia engages with the local community by tutoring high school students in mathematics.

Julia adds to the supportive environment at our clinic by being there to help clients with any requests at KY Psychology.

Administration Support

Jules Dean

Jules (they/them) is a member of the administrative team at KY Psychology. They are dedicated to taking care of clients with a genuine smile and making the journey to better mental health as easy and comfortable as possible. Jules has a background in customer service and a dedication to making clients feel at ease and listened to.

Jules is currently complete in their fourth year sequence in psychology. They have a passion to work in the clinical space with future clients. Their patience and compassion encourages open conversation, helping clients to find their best match for a clinician.

Jules enthusiastically shares the warm, supportive values of KY Psychology and is passionate about supporting our clients feel their concerns are addressed.
